Hi i'm JoLynn
There is something especially inspiring about designing wedding stationery for venues that already carry so much history and presence. I recently created day-of paper for a styled shoot at 1840 Manor House, a historic estate venue located in Akron, Ohio. This newly-renovated venue in Northeast Ohio has quickly become one of my favorites.
We spent the day in several of the beautiful spaces on the property. From getting ready in the manor house to an intimate outdoor dinner on the porch, every detail felt sophisticated and intentional. It was the perfect venue for an intimate summer wedding, and I am so excited to share these gorgeous photos with you!
Pin this inspiration for later!

Originally built in 1840, 1840 Manor House is a historic Akron wedding venue that has been recently renovated for modern weddings. Couples have access to multiple stunning spaces across the property, allowing them to plan a day that reflects their vision.
Some of the spaces at 1840 Manor House:
This variety gives couples flexibility when planning their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
We began the day inside the getting ready suite of the manor house. The getting ready suite is a serene room with comfortable seating options and a gold floor to ceiling mirror that would be perfect for photos. We took advantage of the soft natural light to get detail shots of jewelry, drinks, and day-of paper details.

These are the wedding ceremony program fans I designed to keep guests cool during the summer heat. Keep reading to see how we displayed them at the ceremony!
The ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn, surrounded by greenery and mature shade trees. We arranged the light wooden chairs for an intimate guest count, and framed the aisle with colorful florals. A stunning arch draped with ivory linens added softness to the space and popped against the natural surroundings. Outdoor ceremonies like this let the setting do much of the work.
My favorite ceremony detail? The scalloped wedding ceremony fans I designed, waiting for guests at the end of each row. On a hot summer day, these fans are not only beautiful, but also functional!

After the ceremony we moved to cocktail hour at the carriage house. The patio was a lovely location to set up champagne for the guests. Beautiful glassware, blue patterned linens, and florals helped tie the space to the overall wedding design.
I created a sign with watercolor champagne glasses that instructed guests to take a glass. Small details like paper goods placed intentionally throughout the day help guests feel confident moving from one moment to the next.

Another unique space to enjoy a drink is the Bourbon Lounge. It’s an intimate bar and lounge that offers a moody setting, with dark wood tones and chandelier lighting. It’s a stunning space that provides a contrast to the bright outdoor areas and an added layer to the guest experience. For our styled shoot, it was the perfect place to snap portraits of the groom.

One of the standout moments from the day was dinner on the porch. The linens were light and elegant to match the exterior of the manor house. Gold cutlery and white ceramic table lamps added an extra touch of luxury. And a pop of black from the chairs that matched the manor house trim tied the whole setup together.
For each place setting I created a place card with a beautiful watercolor floral design. This personalized paper detail helps your guests feel confident selecting a seat.
Porch dining works especially well for small guest lists. It encourages conversation, creates a shared experience, and allows guests to enjoy the surroundings.

1840 Manor House is a beautiful choice for couples planning a wedding in Akron or Northeast Ohio. With multiple distinct spaces on one property, couples can design a wedding day that fits their needs. Outdoor ceremony options, indoor gathering spaces, and additional reception areas like the ballroom allow for flexibility while maintaining a cohesive experience.
This venue offers a beautiful setting for a variety of wedding styles, which makes it a joy to design custom stationery that reflects both the location and the couple’s vision.
I’ve rounded up some of my other favorite wedding venues in Northern Ohio and Northeast Ohio. If you’re searching for venues in the area, you won’t want to miss these posts.
When I design wedding stationery, I always consider how it will live within the space. For a venue like 1840 Manor House, that means creating paper goods that feel connected to the history, the season, and the overall atmosphere of the day.
If you are planning a wedding at 1840 Manor House, in Northeast Ohio, or beyond, let’s work together! I would love to design custom stationery that complements your venue and brings your celebration together from start to finish.
