Alena and Mark’s summer wedding at The Grand Resort in Warren, Ohio was effortlessly elegant from start to finish. The color palette: timeless black and white with gold touches. Those colors carried through every detail, from the wedding party to their sleek, high-end reception in The Grand Ballroom. Alena and Mark trusted me to design cohesive wedding stationery that set the tone for their big day. Today I’m sharing a closer look at their stunning stationery designs, as well as the beautiful celebration that followed.

Timeless Wedding Stationery for The Grand Resort Ohio

Custom Black and White Wedding Invitation Suite

Alena and Mark (and their amazing wedding planner, Lorenda Howell) came to me with a clear vision. They wanted their stationery to feel elevated and timeless, with a clean, cohesive look that carried across every piece. To bring that together, I designed a custom monogram from their initials: A & M. That monogram gave all of their wedding paper a signature detail and a single thread to tie it all together.

Before anything goes to print, I always send couples mockups of their full suite. This is the part of the process where the design becomes real! You can see every card laid out, and refine the details until they look right to you. Once the final design is approved, I send everything to print.

These are examples of the mockups Alena and Mark saw:

Their invitation suite was sleek, high end, and timeless. I designed a pocket invitation in crisp black and white, with a formal script font. We used their custom monogram at the top of their main invitation card and on the pocket. A coordinating timeline card and response card rounded out the suite, each one carrying the same classic look.

Timeless Wedding Day Paper

We didn’t stop at the invitations. We also carried the same design through to their wedding day paper.

I created menus that matched their suite, finished with a clean black and white border and the monogram at the top. That monogram also carried onto their seating chart. And finally, their table numbers pulled from the same look, so every piece was cohesive from the ceremony through the reception.

That’s the real value of working with a custom stationery designer. We create cohesion through design. Fonts, colors, illustrations… every detail from your invitation suite can show up in your wedding day paper too. It makes your whole wedding feel elevated and intentional.

The Grand Resort Wedding

Golf Course Wedding Ceremony at Avalon Lakes

Alena and Mark said their vows outdoors on the Avalon Lakes Golf Course at The Grand Resort in Warren, Ohio. White garden chairs lined the aisle, framed by low arrangements of white roses and greenery. Behind them stood a large oak and a pond with a fountain. A string musician played as they exchanged vows. It was picture-perfect.

The golf course was more than a beautiful backdrop. Alena and Mark fully leaned into the golf theme with extra details. For example, they even had a custom “The DiBattistes” pennant for portraits out on the green! And just wait until you see the custom cocktail stir sticks…

After the ceremony, guests headed to the Vista Patio for cocktail hour. Guess what was waiting for them: a cannoli cart! I absolutely love seeing couples incorporate unique, personalized elements into their celebration. Your wedding day can be whatever you want it to be. Why not add your favorite dessert in a fun way?

Reception in The Grand Ballroom

From there, the celebration moved into The Grand Ballroom. Lorenda Howell Events brought Alena and Mark’s timeless vision to life. They went all in on the palette, mixing black and white linens with gold Chiavari chairs from L’Nique and Walnut Ridge Rentals. A black and white checkerboard dance floor anchored the room. Their sweetheart table was gorgeous, framed by lush white roses from Roses for Weddings. Candlelight was the finishing touch; it gave the whole ballroom a romantic glow.
